A St. Louis native, Libbie Higgins has become one of the most iconic comedians of the Midwest. Her affiliation with Chelcie Lynn, AKA Trailer Trash Tammy, is well-known. However, it was her groundbreaking moment in 2015, when her iconic McRib video went viral, that truly catapulted her career. This viral video, shared across social media platforms, not only brought her widespread recognition but also marked the beginning of her journey to establish and grow her brand through several outlets, including Slop City Podcast with comedian Tina Dybal, her mukbang character Crystal, and her podcast labeled Storage With Libbie Higgins.

What truly sets Higgins apart is her unique sense of humor, which has not only garnered over 234,000 followers via Instagram and over 195,000 subscribers on YouTube but has also created a strong bond with her audience. Her ability to find humor in the mundane and her relatable storytelling style has endeared her to a broad audience. She not only captures the humor of the Midwest but also solidifies her ability to connect with her audience on a personal level, making them feel understood and part of her journey.

Although much of her backstory is unknown, Higgins has shared some insights into her childhood on her Storage podcast. She and her older sister, who goes by “Sis,” grew up in a low-income neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri, with an alcoholic father. Higgins has credited her sister with many of her childhood life lessons and experiences, which have undoubtedly influenced her unique comedic style.

Her initial steps in comedy began on Vine, the social media app later discontinued in 2017. She played a character named Carla, a fiery and outspoken woman, similar to her more recent character, Crystal, a mukbang enthusiast with a unique perspective on life. These characters, born out of her real-life experiences and observations, have resonated with her audience, as evidenced by the McRib video achieving over 9 million views.

Higgins’ comedic style can only be described as unique. She draws inspiration for her characters from her life experiences and reality, often touching on themes of family, money, and food. These topics have played critical roles in her messages to her fans, offering a relatable and humorous take on everyday situations. Her comedy is unfiltered and raw, which can be a significant turnoff to many but a major turn-on to those who want to see a natural comedian.
