From the land down under comes Lipstereo, a feisty four-piece indie rock band hailing from Melbourne, Australia. Born from a shared love of classic rock legends like The Strokes, Weezer, and Arctic Monkeys, Lipstereo has become a force to be reckoned with on the local music scene. Lipstereo is a four-piece band from Melbourne, Australia, consisting of Sam Stranges on vocals and rhythm guitar, Andrew Stainsby on lead guitar, Tage Hosking-Gregory on bass, and Jesse Porter on drums. They bring the energy of bands like The Ramones and Blondie to their performances, reminiscent of the iconic CBGB club.

In a parallel universe, Lipstereo would be right at home on Phil Spector's playlist, blending loud guitars with post-punk songwriting to create something unique. The band has gained recognition from Rolling Stone Australia, NME, ABC Rage, and Noise 11. Their four-track debut EP, Modern Mythology, recorded with producer Mark Opitz and engineer Colin Wynne at Thirty Mill Studios, solidified their position as one of Melbourne's promising alternative bands.

Their latest single, "Little Spaceships," is a touching tribute to the relatable feeling of being left behind as friends and loved ones move on. So buckle up because Lipstereo is taking us on a wild ride through a universe of loud guitars and post-punk sensibilities.

The band's single is characterized by loud, crunchy guitars and driving rhythms, with a post-punk songwriting sensibility that results in catchy, anthemic songs that are both powerful and accessible. The vocals of frontman Sam Stranges are raw and powerful, soaring above the music to deliver introspective and relatable lyrics.

The soul-stirring "Little Spaceships," the latest release from Lipstereo's debut EP Modern Mythology, will blast you back to the glory days of indie rock with its electrifying production by the one and only Opitz, the mastermind behind some of Australia's biggest rock legends like INXS, AC/DC, and The Angels. This track is the perfect anthem for anyone who's ever felt like they were left behind as friends and loved ones soar ahead in life, and Lipstereo nails it with soaring vocals, guitar riffs that'll pump you up, and a playful bassline that'll have you tapping your feet. "Little Spaceships" is a time machine that transports you to a parallel universe where Spector is jamming out to this blend of early 90s rock and post-punk songwriting.

Modern Mythology departs from their previous work, showcasing a matured sound and a more refined songwriting approach. The EP takes inspiration from the band's favorite 90s early rock sounds and post-punk sensibility, delivering tracks that perfectly balance energy and emotion.

Significant growth and improvement are evident in Lipstereo's musical abilities and production due to the contribution of Opitz. The EP is a testament to Lipstereo's development as a band and a good look into what the future holds for this talented four-piece.

Lipstereo's new single "Little Spaceships" may not blow your mind, but it's a solid step forward for the young indie-rockers. For those unfamiliar with Lipstereo's sound, this single may not stand out among the sea of music releases, but for fans of the band, it's a clear indication of the growth and maturity in their sound.

This track is a testament to the band's consistency and continued effort to refine their craft. Although it may not be the most exciting release, it's a solid addition to the band's growing discography and a positive step toward a bright future.
